Pont du gard et Uzes

Today was gloriously sunny and hot. Our first port of call was the ancient Pont du Gard, Roman aqueduct:





After that we travelled onto the lovely town of Uzes, where it was market day. We had a lovely lunch at a quiet cafe close to the cathedral, I had chicken with sesame seeds, and spicy lentils with lettuce - really delicious!! We also enjoyed exploring the cathedral, ducal palace and market stalls:







We were back in Avignon for the afternoon where we wetn to the Papal Palace (not as impressive inside as out) up through the gardens and down to the famous Pont de Benezet:










So adieu from Avignon for tonight, more tomorrow I hope....
