The thaw

On Friday we woke up to rain, and a very wet world. There was still quite a bit of snow and ice around, but it was definitely the beginning of a thaw. Chris had an ordinary day at school, and was pleased to get a card with his NI number through the post! Ian wasn't so pleased to hit a few problems on his way home, meaning that he didn't arrive home until well after 11pm!
By Saturday all vestiges of snow and ice were gone. We had a pretty lazy day, I went out to Messy Church in the afternoon, Ian ventured out as far as the local shops and Chris's most energetic venture was spending some time playing on the Wii!

All the snow and ice have gone here. Friday night was still quite icy with rain on top and some friends coming to visit had a hard time on the paths. It has been very dark, since, and we haven't done much, either!

Yay for a finer day. Here was wonderful today but it's apparently been one of the worst Januarys ever for Wellington. I'm glad we went away to get some sun. Hope things continue to clear up over there.

Messy Church? Not tidy?

Messy Church is family friendly Church, including crafts, a short worship/teaching time and a meal together - we usually get about a hundred people there... and no definitley not tidy!!
