Dubrovnik

I'm just back from a week in Dubrovnik with Ian, Matthew and Chris. We were staying at the Hilton just outside the walls of Dubrovnik Old Town.

The Old Town itself is a lovely walled city with a beautiful broad main street and many narrow stepped alley ways leading off from it. There are beautiful buildings including two old monastries, a couple of notable fountains and statues and a bustling harbour.

The streets were populated by some colourful characters:

We walked right around the walls, which are impressive fortifications with fort like bastions, giving wonderful views of both the city and the surrounding Adriatic coastline

We also visited a number of off shore islands during our trip, but I think I will make them into a separate post....
