A mixed day

Yesterday after doing a bit of housework, I went to Little Fishes. We were doing Easter activities, we made nests with shredded wheat and chocoloate and put two eggs and a fluffy, little chick in each one, We also did some craft with paper palm leaves! It was quite a quiet session but a good one, and I'm starting to get to know the children and their parents now. The event was a little overshadowed by the fact that we knew a funeral was taking place for a lady called Ruth, who died suddenly last week. I didn't know her, but she was a friend of quite a few people I know. She was only young (in her 30's I think), in the early stages of pregnancy, and she died of pneumonia, very sad.

I arrived back home, to learn that Bob our neighbour had died earlier in the aternoon, this was not unexpected, as he had asbestosis, and his condition had deteriorated quite rapidly over the past few months.

In the evening we went to Libby's house for bible study, where we were stuying the book of Ruth. It was a good evening. Today, I'm going to Angela's for coffee this morning, and Chris is coming here for coffee this afternoon, so that should be a pleasant relaxing sort of day.

Those are sad deaths.

We made those once for a birthday party years ago when Christy was very little. We couldn't find shredded wheat so we crushed up those little weety fruit parcel cereals you get - can't recall the name!! I know shredded wheat is out there now. In fact I was doing a teaching section at Mana College about a billion years ago and there was a table of English ex-pat teachers who were all relishing the imminent arrival of shredded wheat in NZ. I had no idea what it was! Maybe I'm still not so sure LOL!
