Yesterday afternoon I went to Birkenhead. I spent a while looking at clothes and picking out things I might like for Christmas, I think I might take Mum shopping soon!!Then I got on with what I was supposed to be doing and bought two new pairs of shoes to replace the ones whose heels have just worn away. I also saw some very nice, and very cheap boots, I didn't buy them but I think I might have to soon!!! Then I went and bought a pad of canvas paper because I have run out again!!!

Now it was time to go home, when I arrived at the station there were delays and cancellations all over the schedules and there was a stream of announcements about delays, so I went and caught the bus instead. I got off in Bebington and went and delivered some things round to a lady's house who hasn't made it to church for a while. Then I caught the train (still running late) to Bromborough where I had another parcel to deal with, this one was going much further...!

Home for dinner, a roast chicken etc, then an evening when I got an idea for a new feature on a website and spent time doing that instead of other things I might done!!

Today I am going to go over To Liverpool in search of the cheapest toothpaste and pencil sharpeners that money can buy!!!! Later I'm going to Kathryn's to do some more packing and in the evening Ian and I are going out for dinner. Meanwhile David is going to the farm today to sort out a barn!! I might organise a haircut for the other two boys, their hair is beginning to resemble straw....

Hee, I just wrote about my Nick in my story having a head of hay *g*

It sounds like public transport chaos over there sometimes but you seem to take it all in your stride, and I admire that enormously.

Buy the boots. I bought some in Brisbane and I love them to bits.

Next thing you know, Viv will be on her way to Brisbane. "I'm just going out to buy some boots..."

The thing about public transport here is that once we've bought a monthly pass we can jump on and off any bus, train or ferry, without thinking about cost, so if there is a problem with one route you can just take an alternative without needing to think about it! That makes life so much easier.

And yes I'm sure I will buy the boots soon!!

The monthly pass is a good thing. I would get Christy one if she caught the bus more often, but she usually gets a ride with Steve. And *pout* no trains on this side of town.

Yay for the boots. Winter is coming to a place near you soon, after all *g*
