A year later

This time last year I was about to turn 40 and asked the family to take some some photos of me! I did the same thing yesterday...

In the past six months I have lost about 5 and a half stone - I haven't really mentioned that here except in passing, but I thought it might be fun to post last years view and this years view here:

LAST YEAR

THIS YEAR

I will admit to feeling quite pleased with myself!

OMG you look gorgeous! And quite a different person to the one I met at the Sweet Vanilla Cafe how long ago... I have no idea!
Well done, Viv, that's a brilliant (and quiet!) achievement.

I am still the same person honest...and I don't feel very different either...though I do walk faster than I used to!!

Yeah, I know you'd be the same inside, wonderful and great and nice and caring *g*

I guess the package might feel healthier though. And that's a good thing, too.

Even physically I don't feel much different, I think other people are far more aware of the change than I am... definitely healthier though, and that must be good!!

I think if I lost that much weight, I'd feel a LOT different *g* but maybe it was just the right thing to happen at the right time for you. So that's wonderful.

I thought I would feel very different but don't, that surprises me!

I think if you lost that much weight you would have some serious health issues to deal with!!!

But yeah, I thought you'd feel so different. Maybe it's because you let it happen so - naturally or whatever. You just changed a few things and it worked and your body said, hey, yeah, this is good.

*giggle* yeah, like I'd look like a bit of a skeleton, I guess!

I reckon!!*g*

It was a very definite decision to lose weight, climbing tall towers in foreign countries was just getting to be too much work...I decided to do it just after Angela joined Slimming World...at least in part to support and encourage her efforts - I've been quite disciplined about the whole thing, but I've not found it too difficult and I certainly haven't felt deprived!!

Good motivation. Well, it sure worked. Slimming world. Hmmm. I've heard of that. Is that like Weight Watchers? Here quite a few people are doing something where you must wait five hours between meals, is that a Slimming World thing? I was painting the ceiling the other day and thinking, well, that's gotta be five hours, if I could only reach some food *g*

Yeah Slimming World is sort of like Weight Watchers, though they wouldn't like us saying that! They don't count calories, or have 5 hour gaps between meals, they do something called food optimising!!

But the only way to lose weight is to eat less bad food, more good food and be active!!

Actually I think everybody knows that this is the way it is! - it's just that everybody is looking for an easier way!!!

Well done
Well done Viv. You look great and you do suit your hair like that.
We all miss not having you and your family around.
Mike is in the top class at school except for English. He doing graphics and computing for his choices.
Your old home is painted grey on the lower level and light brown above. I liked it how you all had it.
Tec starts in March so I have something to look forward to.
Have a great Birthday

Re: Well done
I took quite awhile to adjust without you all around.
I missed you more than any one else that has gone.
I didn't think it would be so difficult to write but other things have not gone so well.
I am pleased everything is going well over there.

Congratulations!

I tried Slimming World - twice- and ended up putting the weight back on, which was devastating - but have recently taken your advice on excercise to heart. Line dancing has meant having to buy all new trousers - 2 sizes smaller - and I'm hoping that will continue.

Your photographs are lovely!

I think you just have to find something that works for you and then develop a lifestyle which maintains it - so keep on dancing for all you're worth!!

Will do! That's an easy resolution to make, because I enjoy it so much.I'm happy to lose more slowly this time - in the hope that it will last! Dancing should make sure of that.
