Today I have spent most of the day decorating at the rectory, also went to a prayer meeting, did some shopping and did some work at home too!

But my day in Milan was much more interesting... So off we go...

Santa Maria della Grazie is the home of the amazing picture "The Last Supper" by Leonardo da Vinci. You weren't allowed to take pictures of "The Last Supper" but it was far more impressive in real life than in any image you will have ever seen of it, it has amazing depth. All I have is pictures of the church, that was pretty too!

The famous opera house and the expensive shopping arcade!

On and around the duomo

And finally one of the best cappuccinos I have ever been served:

Oh My God, that architecture is unbelievable. How come no one came here and built those buildings??! Wow, it's just breathtaking, the steeples, the floors, the windows, the spires, everything! And even housing the Golden Arches! Beautiful. Thanks for sharing all these pics.

And so is the coffee *g* I love that.

It's lovely isn't it? Italy definitely has more than it's fair share of beauty... architecture, painting, sculptures and even a fair share of natural beauty, I put it all down to the Romans!!!!

Those Romans. Created a bit of havoc but at the same time, created such a lot of good...

I had a cappuccino like that somewhere once, and can't remember where. France, I think. Too good to drink!

Thanks for the pics of Milan - splendid! The cathedral is magnificent.

I think that picture might make a new coffee icon!!

Glad you enjoyed Milan! The Duomo is very beautiful outside but very dark and gothic within! Our tickets for Barcelona are booked by now... I'll have to see how their dark gothic cathedral compares!!

The gothic cathedral isn't spectacular outside or in, just big and dark, in a very nice square in the old town. The Sagrada Familia, on the other hand, will certainly rival the Duomo (though quite different) and should be fabulous inside too, when it's finished.

I will email a list of what you have to see and why!!

A list would be really helpful, though it would still be great to meet, here or there, and talk before I go, if we can find a date?
