Squirrels and sand dunes

It's half term here at the moment, so today Christopher, Matthew and I headed out along the coast north of Liverpool, with Caroline and her son William, friends from church. We caught the train as far as Crosby. We walked or biked from there to Formby where we went to see the red squirrels. After that we headed back to the beach and the sand dunes were we had lots of fun. It was a glorious Autumn day,and it was great to be out in the sun and under blue skies, even if the sea was rather cold!!

Here are some photos of the day:

First on the beach at Formby

Then into the woods with the red squirrels

And finally to the sand dunes

Wow, and Fledge just had me down memory lane reading a Samfic I wrote a while back about a talking squirrel (she only just read it)! Looks like you had a great journey. I love the pics of the squirrels. And the burying sand! Thanks for sharing the pics.

The squirrels were very cute, but hard to capture in a photo... It was a really lovely day, nice to see blue skies, even if it wasn't that warm, and the "buried trees" were amazing!

....been there, done that.... but in summer, when the horseflies make it a less pleasurable experience. What a lovely day!! Super pics - and I have snagged the two of squirrels with vague ideas of making an icon - hope that's OK! (I'm practicing animated icon making on Fireworks).
