Saturday was a day of celebrations, first we went to Margaret's house to help celebrate David Fox's 60th birthday with a house full of invited guests. This went well and seemed to be enjoyed by all. Then there was the great celebration in our house that light was restored to our kitchen, no more cooking dinner in the dark - yay!! And we finished our day round at Angela's place drinking champagne with her and Andrew to celebrate her birthday. It was a good end to a good day!

Yesterday was a typical busy Sunday, though I spent lots of time updating people on what has been happening in Kenya and how it has affected the projects and people we support there.

Today Matthew and David are celebrating being back at school... (actually celebrating might not be quite the right word there!!!)

I'm glad you can see what you're cooking....

I've been following the Kenya news carefully and have read a lot from the Avaaz organisation who do, I think, a good job of liaising between politicians and people. The whole situation is so sad - I think we all thought Kenya was on the road to an integrated and settled future.

The schools here went back on Thursday, but I have to say this is the first day I've felt the holidays are over *g*

I'm glad you can see what you're cooking.... It definitely helps!!

I think we all thought Kenya was on the road to an integrated and settled future. Yes it has always been the stable country in Africa, help up as a shining example to turbulent neighbours, but now so much has been lost so quickly... very, very sad.

Chris is not back at school until Wednesday, lucky boy, but this week definitely feels like back to business as usual...

If you fancy meeting up some time soon, my diary has not yet filled up too much, so you might like to suggest a date, Tuesdays and Thursdays are best for me!!

Is Thursday 24th any good? It's free at the moment! Can't think where to suggest because it might snow...

I think I should be able to make that day, but just a few minutes before this comment arrived I had emailed Steve trying to arrange to meet regarding the work I am going to do for Jubilate and that was one of the days I suggested... Even if that is the day he prefers it doesn't necessarily preclude me meeting you the same day. So I will say yes provisionally and confirm when/if I get an answer from Steve!!

Otherwise, it would have to be the following Thursday - Tuesdays aren't a good day for me at the moment.

Sorry not to have got back to you sooner, but Steve still hasn't been in touch, (I think he must be away...) so assume that I am okay for 24th at this stage, I'll be back in touch to arrange details soon!

Will wait to hear. But don't worry if you have to rearrange things. It occurred to me - isn't Steve in Fallowfield or Rusholme? Maybe we could plan to meet there and have lunch at one of the Indian restaurants and perhaps go to the Whitworth art gallery/museum along there. So it might make sense to make it the same day that you see him - but not a Tuesday!

Finally heard from Steve and have managed to talk dates, no clash on 24th, so we can doing anything you like.... though an Indian meal always sounds like a good idea to me anyway!!

How about we meet at the station as usual, head out to Rusholme's culinary delights then 'do' the art gallery? 12.00 noon?

Sounds like a good plan to me. See you at 12 noon at Picadilly...
