Today we travelled up the west side of the lake to Riva del Garda, stopping on the way at Limone sul Garda. The latter's name apparently really comes from a Latin word meaning frontier but that doesn't mean the place hasn't themed itself all around lemons!!! Riva was pleasant, we saw some interesting paintings in the castle and I climbed a tower in the main square for a better view of things. We caught a ferry back down the lake to Maderno, the most notable views being Malcesine where apparently a stuntman in the next James Bond movie sank a car.
We hope to return to Malcesine and go up in the cable car on Thursday, all being well.
Now the pictures:
A lemon door in Limone
Giant lemons in Limone
Still in Limone, an unusual fountain
