Isle of Man - day 2

The weather today was noticeably better than yesterday, though there were still a few showers during the day. After breakfast we headed out to Laxey on the electric railway (which looks more like a tram)

We went to see the Laxey Wheel:

We also went for a ride on the Laxey Mines Railway, then after a drink and some chips we headed up Snaefell on the mountain Railway. There were some good views from the top:

Moments after this photo was taken cloud descended and the view looked like this:

Nonetheless we made it to the summit and caught some glimpses of Scotland and Ireland amid the swirling cloud.

There was some rain on the way back to Douglas, but later the weather cleared up enough for us to spend some time at the beach:

Only day 2and already you've found lots of interesting things! Presumably your hotel has free wi-fi? The weather forecast isn't that good but I expect you have adequate kagoules, etc!

Do you think you could possibly look out for and photograph any small ruins or tumbledown farmhouses you come across? Strange request, I know, but it ties in with one of my stories...

Presumably your hotel has free wifi sadly not, but it is a daily rate so want to get the most for my money!!

I will keep my eyes open for small ruins!!

Thank for the pics. Never been to man so it is nice to get an insight. Sea looks remarkably flat considering. I will do the google on the Laxey wheel.

The sea was remarkably calm compared to the previous day!
