A lovely evening

A pretty ordinary sort of day at school, followed by a really frustrating hour when I had to deal with a variety of organisations which had managed to screw up some pretty simple instructions. The main guy I had to deal with only seemed to have the most basic grasp of English and I'm not even sure he was talking to me from NZ!
Anyway, after that the day improved when I went down to the the river for a barbecue. A short swim in the river seemed to wash all my frustration away and then the wonderful aroma wafting up from the barbecue completed my pleasure. We had all the usual barbecue fare, sausages, steak and patties, there was also a wonderful big pot of creamed paua and fresh mussels to cook. It was all consumed with the backdrop of beautiful setting sun. I really don't think that a New Zealand evening can get much better than that. When I got home I made a long phone call to the UK and now I should be in bed but I'm not!
