Gullfloss, Geysir and more...

Day 3 could not have been more of a contrast to day 2 in terms of weather, although snow was still on the ground as we set off round the Golden circle in the morning, the sky was blue, the sun was shining and there was practically no wind at all, in fact just about perfect conditions really.

First stop on the trip was a geothermal power station:

That was interesting but the best was definitly yet to come!! Next was Gullfloss, the Golden Waterfall

Next we moved on to the geothermal area containing Geysir a famous geyser after which all other geysers were named. Geysir no longer spouts regularly but it's younger sibling spouts impressively every five minutes or so...

Finally we went to Thingvellir National Park, the site of the first parliament, also a site of great natural beauty...

This was just such an amazing day in every sense... There are literally dozens of more amazing images I could post here, but here are a last few of my favourites

Gosh, you could write a book with all the brilliant pics you have! I love that low building with the blue roof that's seemingly alone. In fact, I love all these.
