A really pleasant day at school for me, first day at Intermediate for Christopher and last day of the holidays for David and Matthew.
All of the above completely overshadowed by the news that Ian's Mother passed away earlier this evening (NZ time). Nothing more to say, I just wish I was there or that there was something I could do to help, but here I am thousands of miles away with nothing but prayers and words of comfort.

Oh. That's so sad, I am so sorry about Ian's mother, and for both of you, and just glad that he went over, I guess.
I really am very sorry - I'll light a candle

Thank you, in the end she was in so much distress that death was welcome, but it is still very sad.

I hope you do not mind this intrusion but I am on takahe's flist, hence knew about Ian's long journey and the beginning of his mother's journey too. Merseyside must seem so very far away for you right now and the separation so acute. I lit a virtual candle here for her and Ian.
