Packing

Well I've stripped the walls of pictures and rearranged the living room and dining room to make the packing process easier. I've dusted and washed and cleaned, I've moved and sorted and thrown away, yet it is still difficult to believe that the packers will be here tomorrow to take all our things away.
Life is just very strange at the moment and will continue to be that way for sometime.
I had lunch with Sandra yesterday, she gave me a tiger cushion which she had made, it is lovely. The day before Janice gave me a beautiful wooden bowl which her daughter made for me. They are lovely personal gifts and memories, people are so very kind.

Packing
Hi

I am thinking of you all! You will have to try and picture yourselves unpacking in the UK and discovering all your personal possessions all over again. Look forward to it positively! Sending you a big hug across the world.

Re: Packing
I am looking forward to unpacking all our prized possessions in the UK, though I fear more moving, sorting and throwing away may be necessary in order to accomodate our vast quantities of things there, have you got any idea how many postcards I've collected in the last 30 years?! Hugs to you too.

Packers already? What will you sit on? How will you get by?

We will continue to sit on the chairs that we have always sat on... Mum's house is fully furnished with better stuff than we have (for the most part) and we can't see any point in shipping 12-year-old furniture across the world. OK, it's not all twelve years old, but we freely admit that the $199 sofa we bought from The Warehouse The Warehouse was not in fact a bargain.
Yes, packers already. It takes 10-12 weeks to get stuff from here to there (or there to here, if the reader is already in the north).
