Another day

I can't believe that another week has flown by. What have I been doing? This week we are doing maths testing at school which is a singularly depressing exercise at least as far as the junior classes are concerned. It is hard to test knowledge that children do not have. Summer sports practices started this week, one on Tuesday, one on Wednesday and one on Thursday. Great huh! The children finish school early today because the NZEI has called a stopwork meeting at 1.30pm today. Why? Because attendance at recent union meetings has been too low! No one is very impressed.

Mathematics
You are worried about the juniors. Here they are making the "A" level easier because of the poor pass rate. They can now use calculators and formula crib sheets are to be re-introduced.Algebra is going to make a come-back.
