Five more weeks

It's really hard to believe that in just 5 weeks we will have left New Zealand and be on our way back to the UK. Life is quite peaceful here right at the moment, a sort of calm before the storm. I'm gradually getting the house into a good state, filling another skip in the process, but otherwise little of note is happening. Yesterday they had school photos and I got dragged in for a staff photo even though I had only gone in to school patrol duty! Today they had meningoccocal vaccinations so there were lots of sore sleepy kids around. Today I went up to Ag Research with GKP and learnt all about possums and how to get rid of them. Tomorrow Christopher is going to the Carter Observatory and I've said I'll go and cook sausages at school! What fun!!

Good to hear you now know all about possums and how to get rid of them. Not sure how useful a skill that will be when you arrive back in the UK, but there you go!
Before we know it, you will be on to counting days not weeks, it is going very fast!
I got bored today and went to the hairdressers. I now look like a poodle! I will get Andrew to take a photo and I will mail it at the weekend, so you can all have a laugh. I am hoping that I will get used to the new look either that or I hope the perm doesn't last too long! I suppose if I look on the bright side summer is meant to be coming, so I can always use a sun hat! Not that it has been warm enough of late, a rain hat would be more useful!

Re: Possums?
I'm trying to imagine you looking like a poodle, I'm sure a real photo won't be as funny as the picture in my head!! I'm sure it looks okay really, but it's always hard to get used to a change like that.
I'm already counting days, not till I leaving the country, just until I finish work (5 more days)but I suppose the big countdown to go-time will start soon, actually I wish I could just get on a plane tomorrow, or even today. It's just one long wind down now until we leave!
