Re: Birthdays!
I think my excitements stems from thinking that my heart problems were going to see me off before I reached anywhere near here. It does feel like a sense of achievement for me to be here. I was at the hospital this morning having another echoscan, and it makes me feel all the time how lucky I am to be enjoying life. Having such a milestone birthday has been cool. Don't worry about it if you don't feel like that, it's only a number! You used to be able to do anything with numbers. Make it a smaller number by doing some maths.

I sort of understand how you feel, I think I have felt a little bit that way since the day I had the car accident when Matthew was a few weeks old. As the car crashed into the tree I was quite sure I was about to die, and was amazed to find that I was still alive afterwards. I was even more amazed to come out of it with no permanent damage except a couple of small scars. Every day I thank God that I'm here to enjoy it. Not that my experience even comes close to yours!

Can't shake the fact that 40 seems ever so old though! Still, like it or not, I'm still planning to celebrate it, so keep the evening of Saturday 25th February free, don't know exactly what I'm going to do yet, but it will definitely be that night!!

Hexadecimal
Make it a smaller number by doing some maths.

Much loved by geeks the world over, hexadecimal is the way to go!

Happy 28th birthday.

Winnie the Pooh
Thanks for the picture of Winnie! You will see tomorrow night that my birthday cake has the same A.A.Milne theme!
