Jan. 23rd, 2006

Well the weekend has been and gone, without an excess of activity here. Saturday drifted until mid afternoon when Mum came round, and I cooked a roast for tea. We all watched "7 periods with Mr Gormsby" while the chicken cooked though I was popping in and to to turn pans on and off at regular intervals. A pleasant day, but definitely not overly productive!

Sunday was a much earlier start, though I still had hurry to be out of the house in time to catch my train. But I did, so I was at church in good time for music group. It was a pleasant if fairly unremarkable service, a long sermon and communion as well, so not much time for anything extra! We went to the Merebrook (local pub) for lunch where the boys all consumed enormous steaks! Seeing the amount that David managed to eat it's not surprising that he's grown so much taller in the last year or so!

In the evening Ian, David and I were back at church for the evening service, they had coffee before the service which was nice and sociable. The service had a very informal feel to it, mostly because Chris, the youth worker was leading it! But that was all good, a lovely relaxed time really, and Debbi, who doesn't normally come in the evenings, was there, so was Heather, who has been quite sick with pneumonia, for the first time in ages, so it was great to see them there too.

I have completed twenty levels of a game called "planarity" which is fun but an enormous time waster, only play if you have a few spare days at your disposal. I didn't but I played any way so I'm behind with the laundry again! The weather hasn't been fantastic here, but I think nature is wonderful, one tree in our garden is in full blossom (it is a winter flowering tree) but several other have big buds just ready to burst into life at the first sign of good weather, and on Saturday morning I watched four grey squirrels playing chase in the trees at the bottom of our garden, they were just delightful as they scampered up and down the branches.

This week looks all set to be quite busy here, and there is a pile of laundry which I need to put away before lunch, becuse it's currently sitting on the morning room table!

Ooh, I have a pile of laundry here on the couch behind me. I am going to ignore it!

It sounds like you had a nice, quiet weekend. I like those. We had a day like that today. Regrouping. It was nice.

I'd better not look at Planarity then. Whatever it is!

I wish I could ignore my pile of laundry, but it keeps yelling at me and is threatening to take over the house! I might even have to resort to ironing this afternoon!

Ironing? OMG I am NOT doing that for at least a week!

But I wouldn't want you to be taken over by a pile of ironing!

It's alright every so often, my mother looks at the seething mass of clothes waiting to be ironed and it magically shrinks back to a manageable size, very handy really! (I really do loath ironing!)

Hee, I have a friend like that. I just bring out my basket of socks and she leaps upon it like a hungry tiger, ready to pair those buggers up or die in the process. I love it *g*

Yeah it's great but I don't understand it at all!

Send her round to my place.

Hey I wasted ten minutes pairing your socks before lunch, though there is still the draw full of the boys white sports socks!*g*

Bob always had the best idea about socks, longs he was wearing one on each foot it didn't need to be a pair. Karen often commented that she could tell who dressed Ben as a baby as Bob didn't do colour co-ordination.

Re: socks
Chris would probably have got on very well with Bob, he wears his socks just the same way!
