We had a pleasant weekend, Matthew and Chris went on a trip to Wales on Saturday and we did the usual round of church on Sunday. We went to the 9.30 am service and got a lift with Mum which avoided doing battle with the rail replacement buses. We all went to Mum's for lunch after that, while we were there we watched a crocodile hunter programme set in Vanuatu and I managed to extract a photo album from Mum's cupboard so that I can scan some of the photos from my childhood. We were back at church early to learn how to use the service running software which provides all the words for songs, bible readings and incorporates powerpoints too, which we display on a screen using a data projector. It's quite an impressive, flexible system but fairly straightforward to use.
Yesterday I went to the dentist, not the most successful trip, he removed one tooth no problem, but the second one just didn't go numb, no not even after 8 injections of anaesthetic, so in the end he gave up, the tooth's still there, he'll try again next week, I'm so looking forward to that!
In more cheerful news, we had a music practice last night, only 6 people came, but it was a really constructive time musically, all the same. I was vaguely familiar with the songs we practised but most I had only heard once or twice before and it was goo to learn them properly. Luckily the strange position of the nearly extracted tooth doesn't seem to affect playing the clarinet!

Argh, tooth nightmares. Almost as bad as cockcroach stories! I really must finish the visit I abandoned when we went to Germany at such short notice. Really must...
Christy is finding it hard to hold up her clarinet, her wrist is so bad now. We might have to get one of those sax type round-the-neck holders! Which will only half help, I guess.
I'm so glad you're playing though, that's neat, tooth and all.

Yeah my mouth felt a bit strange, but it didn't seem to affect my playing so that was okay, a strap will probably help Christy but I guess, the wrist will only build upn its strength with use over time.

Yeah, I think she needs some wrist exercises, at least until the MRI!

So do you eventually have to have the tooth out then? Get Ian to tie it to the door and slam it... *g*

He's supposed to take the tooth out next week, if he can get the anaesthetic to work, it sure didn't this time, believe me! The string and the door would probably be worse, but I'm not convinced!
